Who are all these people walking in Covenant Cove? We, here at the office, get that question all the time. Well, the answer is they are 1) Covenant Cove residents, 2) they are our wonderful neighbors from Kensington, Twin Lakes and Campus Place. We asked our neighbors why do they come to our neighborhood and walk. They said, “It’s a great little walking trail.” We must agree. The complete Covenant Cove subdivision is built on a 10-acre tract and it is indeed great for walking, not too hilly and not too flat; not too long not too short; just perfect for a good workout.

The neighborhood is pet friendly because of our 20-pound pet limit. We have only small dogs and just two or three of them. So, no worries about big dogs chasing you while you’re walking. The maintenance team also works diligently to make sure the neighborhood is clean, the landscape has very good eye appeal, and most of all the neighbors are friendly. Friendly enough to stop and chat if you want, or friendly enough to just give you a wave and let you keep moving. Lights, lights, lights. Yes, the developer went the extra mile to put in additional lights that were not required by the city.

This, not only gives our residents a better sense of security, but it also enhances the security of our neighbors who use our walking trail. So what are you waiting on? Let’s get it started! Get off the couch, throw on some sweats and make a commitment to start moving. You’ve got no excuses with a built in walking trail right in your back yard. As many positive people say, if it’s to be its up to me. Well we all are the “me” in this deal and only “we” can make it happen. See you on the trail!

Nothing better than a great, big, juicy, ripe, sweet watermelon in the Summertime. Oh, no…. Yes it is. When its free! Our neighbor Mr. Melvin Jones owns his own produce business and we got a taste of just how good his business is.

He delivered free watermelons and cantaloupes to all of our neighbors throughout Covenant Cove Community and what a treat it was. We thank Mr. Jones for giving Covenant Cove Management Team a discount which allowed them to pay for everyone in the neighborhood to sample Mr. Jones’ great melons. You can find Mr. Jones at John Barrow Road and 12th Street with a trailer load of melons. Don’t waste your time thumpin’ them to see if they’re sweet. Don’t waste your time asking him to cut one open so you can taste it and see if its sweet.

He’s got 51 witnesses and all their family members that are willing to tell you they are indeed sweet. Nothin’ like a neighborhood where the neighbors support each other’s business. That’s how we do it in Covenant Cove. If you want another one of those watermelons or canteloupes delivered to you, call Mr. Jones at (501) 246-3591. He’ll step right out of his door up to your door to hand deliver to you.

“Why do we always have a police car in our neighborhood? What is going on?”

Because, police live in our neighborhood. Yes you heard it right. We are proud to say we have a Little Rock Police Officer Alicia Smith, who lives in our neighborhood. Aren’t we privileged? We are not only privileged, we are honored to have Policewoman Officer Smith residing in Covenant Cove Community.

I think we all feel a little bit safer just knowing she lives among us. And for the many of you who know we have a police officer and have asked, “Can she write us a ticket if we’re speeding?” ABSOLUTELY! In our community we practice being law abiding citizens of the great city of Little Rock, Arkansas. And Officer Smith has full privileges from the Covenant Cove Development Team to uphold the laws of Little Rock by any means necessary. So yep, you might want to check and see if you got your seat belt on.

Yep, you might want to check and make sure your car tags are current. Yep, you might want to check to make sure your head lights aren’t busted. Yep, you might want to check to make sure your child is buckled in a car seat. Yep, I think you got the message.

We’re Better Together Than We Could Ever Be Alone. Have you noticed a green truck driving around our neighborhood real slow, sometimes early in the morning between 6 and 7 a.m.; sometimes between 12 noon and 1 p.m., sometimes late at night?

I mean as late as 10 p.m. to midnight? Yep, you have noticed. Because, you have called our management team on many occasions and asked, “Who is this man driving this green truck, real slow, through our neighborhood like he is looking to get into something?” You all have said he appears to be a black man about 55, brown skin, thin build and he’s always driving slow and looking around. You have asked, do we know who this man is?

The answer to your question: Absolutely, and you would to if you would remember to get to know your neighbor. This fine gentleman is none other than Mr. Donnie Value. He resides in our neighborhood. He is retired and he is always looking out for what’s going on in our great neighborhood. He drives around constantly looking to make sure that the people in our neighborhood live in our neighborhood. On any given day you are liable to see him picking up trash that isn’t his. He does his part to keep our neighborhood clean. Believe me, our management team is well aware of him. If he sees anything that seems to be a little bit suspicious, he’s calling Mecia at (501) 615-5508. And if he can’t get her on the phone, oh he just walks right across the street and beats on her door until she comes to the door. He doesn’t mind doing that for all of us. For that reason, and more, we take this opportunity to tell Mr. Value, “Thank you for not just residing in Covenant Cove Community. Thank you for not just caring about the welfare of your family, but for caring about the welfare of all residents that reside in Covenant Cove Community. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

And yea, by the way Mr. Value, please call Mecia and claim your $100 bill that has your picture on it as a small token of our appreciation for all you do.

Covenant Cove Management Team.
“We’re better together than we could ever be alone.”SM

Curfew: Summertime, summertime, summertime. Yes, it’s summertime; and yes we have wonderful children that live in our community; and yes they want to play all day and all night because school is out. We, as adults, all understand that feeling, for we have experienced it ourselves. However, Covenant Cove Community enforces the same curfew that the city of Little Rock enforces, which is that minors (minors being anyone under the care of an adult who is unmarried and under 18-years-old) are not to be out in public between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, nor 12:00 midnight until 5:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, please see City Ordinance 18,629. We want our children that live in Covenant Cove Community to abide by the City of Little Rock’s ordinance. As a parent or guardian we ask you to please enforce that ordinance. Thank you for your compliance.

Car Registration: Do I have to register my car with the Covenant Cove management? Yes. All residents’ vehicles must be registered. If they are not registered they could be towed at the owner’s expense. Please receive your registered parking decal from our management team. It must be displayed in the front window of the vehicle at all times.

Fire Extinguishers: We ask that all residents please, please, maintain a working fire extinguisher in or near the kitchen. This is for the safety of you and your family and it comes at such a reasonable cost. Residential fire extinguishers can be purchased from Walmart, Target and Home Depot sometimes for as little as $20. We think this is a small price to contribute to the safety of your family. We ask all of our residents, that if you see fire in your home or in our neighborhood, please call 911 immediately. The fire department sub-station that is assigned to our neighborhood is Fire Station #15, located at 8915 Kanis Rd. Their phone number is (501) 228-0377 if you have any question you may want to ask regarding making sure your home is being fireproofed. Remember, in the Cove our goal is always Prevention Before Intervention.

Mailboxes: If my mailbox is knocked down, do I have to pay to replace it or repair it? Yes, yes, yes. When you move into your home, your mailbox will be in working order. It is your responsibility as a resident to keep it that way. If your guests or anyone else knocks down your mailbox it is your financial responsibility to get with our maintenance team to have it repaired/replaced.

Welcome to Covenant Cove Community!! Thank you for choosing your home in the community we call home. To the new kids on the block, our new first-time residents, welcome to our family.

To our residents who have been here with us for a moment, thank you for staying. Thank you for choosing to grow with us and for remaining a part of our family. To our returning residents, there’s nothing like coming back home and we receive you with open arms. Thank you for coming back to our family. Thank you all for being here.

We would like to take this opportunity to applaud our great residents. You go beyond the call of duty to ensure that our community remains nice. Yes, we notice and we appreciate it. We understand that building Covenant Cove was no one-man endeavor and maintaining Covenant Cove to the standard which we all can be proud of is no one-man endeavor. It takes all of us and we all are doing a great job. With only 51 homes in our neighborhood, it is intimate enough to get to know your neighbor and enjoy your privacy.

We thank our residents for looking out for each other. We thank you for calling Mecia, our property manager assistant who resides at 2815 Romine Rd. and can be reached at (501) 615-5508 for all of your concerns.
